Very good roundup of SL's DRM issues Nos!, the only aspect SL content that is protected are the scripts, non modify scripts don't have to be sent to your computer because they are only run on the region server (sims)

However these exact same issues apply to all content digital and physical, just go to China to see everything you can imagine copied, sometimes with amazing detail.
Most of us have copying machines, scanners, camera's etc able to copy just about anything two dimensional and even 3D copiers will become available . And even in pre-industrial times people took the time to handcopy books and memorize songs.
If you computer can play the content, it can be copied with at least the same quality as your viewing pleasure. Unless we agree to give up part of our privacy, DRM issues are here to stay. The upside being it will force content creators to keep innovating and creating.
